3. Is Your Income Below 250% of the Federal Poverty Level?
The Affordable Care Act (ACA) now requires individuals whose income is below 250% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL) to provide a Medicaid acceptance or denial letter when applying for a Marketplace plan.
To avoid delays during Open Enrollment, apply for Medicaid now if you believe you may qualify. Doing so ensures that you’ll have all necessary documentation ready when Open Enrollment begins.
2025 FPL figures are estimates, and official guidelines will be released in January 2025. For more information, visit the HHS website.
